Introduction from Section Emergency Coordinator,
Larry Keller AB3ER

Welcome to the Western Pennsylvania Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES) website. ARES is sponsored by the American Radio Relay League to provide a framework for support of amateur radio participation in emergency and public service events. The primary purpose of the site is to provide a resource for the approximately ARES members and invite other amateur radio operators to gain an interest in joining this very rewarding facet of amateur radio.

The site is also intended as a resource of information and to strengthen communication with the many other groups who serve as a resource in emergencies or public service. Take some time to learn about or capabilities, as a resource in time of emergency, "When all else fails, amateur radio gets the message through"

We hope you will find the site worth a place in your "favorites" and will contribute to the content by you suggestions for enhancing its value as an information resource. Special thanks to the webmaster, Bob Zugates, KB3JOF, for the hours spent in supporting this effort
